چکیده

The disease Rhizoctonia leaf and sheath spot (RLSS), caused by zeae Voorhees, is problematic in ultradwarf bermudagrass (UDBG) [Cynodon dactylon (L.) Pers. × C. transvaalensis (Burtt-Davy)] putting greens. Typically, RLSS symptoms are most severe late summer appear as frog-eye patches 10 to 40 cm diameter. In UDBG, often called “mini-ring” because of the small brown rings that produced when prominent. effect N source rate on severity was investigated 2016 2017. Nitrogen sources, ammonium sulfate (AMS) [(NH4)2SO4] urea (CH4N2O) were applied weekly during growing season at rates 4.9, 9.8, 14.7 kg ha−1. study conducted ‘P18’ (MiniVerde) ‘TifEagle’ UDBG cultivars maintained research greens Clemson University Pee Dee Research Education Center Florence, SC. For both years, decreased compared AMS. November 2016, increased with increasing AMS; however, a response not evident 2017, 25 30% AMS ha−1 wk−1 verses 3 1% for receiving applications same rate. These studies demonstrate utilizing an source, rather than AMS, effective strategy manage UDBG.

Genetic diversity of the rice sheath blight pathogen population in India.

Rhizoctonia sheath diseases of rice, comprising sheath blight, sheath spot and aggregate sheath spot, cause significant yield losses in many rice-growing regions of the world. The emergence of Rhizoctonia sheath diseases as economically important rice diseases is of recent date and has been attributed to the intensification of rice-cropping systems with the development of new short-stature, hig...

Effects of Trinexapac-Ethyl on the Salinity Tolerance of Two Ultradwarf Bermudagrass Cultivars

Studies on bermudagrasses (Cynodon spp.) have demonstrated variability in salinity response among species and cultivars. However, information on ultradwarf bermudagrass cultivars in relative salinity tolerance associated with trinexapac-ethyl (TE) [4-(cyclopropyl-hydroxy-methylene)-3,5-dioxocyclohexanecarboxylic acid ethyl ester], a cyclohexanedione type II plant growth regulator (PGR), remains...

Silicon Suppresses Leaf Spotting on Bermudagrass

Silicon is the second most abundant element after oxygen in the earth's crust, and most soils contain considerable quantities of the element (Savant et al, 1997). However, some soils contain litde plant-available silicon in their native state, and repeated cropping can reduce the levels of plant-available silicon to the point that supplemental silicon fertilization is required for maximum produ...
